"YES."

That's well within the law.
If you end up shooting someone for the "legal infraction" of obstructing traffic you have a problem. And from the reaction of the community over this incident it is obvious that law enforcement has a serious problem here. People don't just go off like that for nothing. It's obvious to me that there has been an ongoing pattern of the Police abusing their authority for quite some time.

If I was Chief of Police I would fire every officer that has worked in this community for the past year. Then I would give them the opportunity to apply for their old positions with their rehiring subject to approval from a committee of citizens of that community.

Any positions left unfilled would be filled with new hires which would also be subject to approval by the same committee.

After that every officers periodic performance review would also be subject to review and approval by the same committee.

You are seriously having issues with logic today, aren't you?

Nobody got shot for walking in the street. Apparently, somebody got shot for assaulting an officer who has every right to tell you NOT to.

That's a minority kid acting out from a grotesque bastardization of generational rage turned entitlement.

Part of the problem with the community is that it's 71% black, has 53 officers, and only 3 of them are black. The mayor and police commissioner are both white. In fact it's just another story of white folks ruling over black folks.

Or apartheid in Missouri.

Then the law is an ass.

Shooting the kid, on the face of it, was an over-reaction to a bare-hands scuffle. It was not self-defense, if was instant punishment for the crime of laying hands on a privileged person. And that is assuming the report that the kid was shot with his hand-up is not true.

My plan would fix that.

I think the cop should get back as good as they give. They be rude assholes, they deserve the same back.

I wouldn't cut their salary.

The way I figure it my plan will get rid of the bad apples and make the police responsible to the community they are supposed to be "protecting and serving".

Oh yeah, that's gonna work. I'm sure the police unions, the mayor, city council, & the B.O.S. would go along with that.
