Early adopters of new technology always pay more. Any of you guys remember what calculators cost in the 70's? And how comparatively little they did?
The Volt is the worlds first fully usable electric vehicle. It is the only one that doesn't require you to limit your travel or change your behavior to accommodate it. And the true brilliance of the design is that you can swap out the gas engine for anything else. Small efficient diesel? Sure! Even better, since the engine is basically just a generator, it is the perfect use for a small turbine.
The Volt is a simply brilliant car.

You've been brainwashed so severely that many of your posts are obvious lies. I guess you haven't driven a Tesla?

And your hatred is so overwhelming, you can't see the truth when it is right in front of you.
Want to post pics of the Volt of the Tesla you drove? Why don't you describe your test drives?
Tesla? Sure have. Cool toy, but doesn't hold a candle to the Volt as a CAR.

So we gave the transistor to the Japanese because we didn't want to develop it further, we have given the Chinese control of solar panels rather than develop them further. The Koreans haven't had anything yet.....
I guess it's too late to go back to horses.

The irony is that since the majority of home installations of solar panels are Chinese panels, and the homeowner gets a rebate, then we are subsidizing the Chinese manufacturers also.

Absolutely correct. Even in our favorite hobby, the finest advances occur at the high end and filter down over time. Remember the first cd players that cost well into the thousands of dollars? Cell phones as big as a shoebox that cost a months wages?
That's just how it works.
Imagine a world run by people who will just hack off funding to any technological advance they think is ridiculous, more expensive than it's worth, (At the moment.), or the work of the devil.....
Wait, in a year or so, you might not have to use your imagination these very jackasses just might be in charge......
