Internet service should be treated like another utility.

It is not like any other utility. My electric company cannot limit how much power I use. My gas company cannot tell me what I can set my thermostat to. Net neutrality is essential and losing it is an epic F U from the service providers.

You are stating what I really meant. Currently there is a conflict of interest since the ISP is also a content provider. I am specifically speaking Comcast and we are currently single sourced with them. Other is AT&T and they are not an option due to access to their fiber optic distribution box.

Comcast is the only cable internet provider at our home in NW Indiana. They are the worst provider of video/internet/phone in one of the most despised industries in the country. We pay extra for Verizon 4G service with download limits, just to avoid Comcast.

My sympathies if it's the only provider available to you.

That's interesting as I went with Verizon as the only high speed access available besides Hughs satellite. I'd consider cable if available for primarily internet.
