With NAFTA and now TPP, the leadership is saying why get involve with job retaining issues.
My beef is with your proposed response.

Well let me expand.

Peaceful demonstration, peaceful sit in. An elected representative gets arrested.

Channeling the 'Donald'?

Did not even remember that he used it. Just a fitting description.

BTW the Dems, by appearing to be less than vigorous, are surrendering such worker issues to a demagogue like Trump.

Of course it's respectable, or at least it can be. That isn't the point. Our job is to call attention to injustice and demand remedies. As our elected representatives, the politicians' responsibility is to heed our demands and create the necessary legislation.

Dindillion's post, the one I took exception to, would have politicians and party officials directly agitating and urging riotous behavior and the illegal occupation of public property. That would be equivalent to, for instance, the RNC urging the Bundys to occupy Malheur.

My expansion did not imply riotous behavior...the word peaceful is everywhere.
Illegal sit in, yes! But PEACEFUL.

No, not "everywhere". For instance, not in the post I originally cited.

The Malheur occupation was "peaceful".
