Republican Scientists a Distinct Minority

Recent studies show that of scientists surveyed, only 6% self-identify as Republican, whereas 55% self-identify as Democrat. This comports pretty well with my experience. I work with a lot of PhD scientists of all stripes, and I don't know a single one who is Republican. OTOH, none are wild-eyed liberals either. They're mostly just disgusted with the non-scientific bent of the GOP as well as their proclivity toward manipulative messaging/propaganda.

To the Republicans out there, do you have any discomfort knowing that the scientific community eschews your party?
