Since Trump took office, his executive orders have enraged Americans from coast to coast. While some of them were beneficial, such as ending the US involvement in TPP, others such as the travel ban have caused unnecessary turmoil for innocent people. However, all those orders were conducted in the open and for all Americans to see — unlike the soft coup being carried out against Trump in secret by the deep state.

Hillary being gone, a new 'greater evil' is needed so Trump can continue to be the 'lesser evil.'

For the rest, if 'deep state' action gets rid of trump before he does too much damage to constitutional institutions, I think the IC will go back to barracks OK afterwards. If, on the other hand, Trump has time to squash the courts, the free press, and congressional oversight, then recovery gets harder.

Hard cases make bad precedent, but Trump is as hard as they come.
