Glenn Beck says to avoid Portland

...like the plague!

I particularly like the mayor's tweeted response.

"We win lots of awards as a city. This one might be the sweetest." #pdxvalidation

"These are the cities that are already having trouble," Beck said. His website says, "this[list] goes from bad to, 'Don't even step foot in there.'"
Quote:
Portland, Ore.
San Francisco
Seattle
Denver
Phoenix
St. Petersburg, Fla.
Columbus, Ohio
Detroit
Boston
Los Angeles
Milwaukee
Las Vegas
Minneapolis-St. Paul
Washington, D.C.
St. Louis
I have been to every city on this list except Columbus, though I am sure I have driven through there. In fact, I wanted to live in Portland permanently, but that did not happen. Am I going to hell?

Oh ye of little faith.

One would think that Beck would encourage the invasion of such a city by the
religious evangelists/zealots/crusaders.

Local station carried his "Freedom Call" program for a while, another wingnut with a short wave broadcast called "The Hour of the Time" loathed him. Bill Cooper had a thing about the 'illuminati', put out a book "Behold a Pale Horse" about them that Bo iirc referred to as "Behold a pail of Horseshit". They didn't play together well.

Just checked Bo's "Almost Heaven" community in Idaho, apparently nearly vacant these days. Reputedly nowhere as bad as Hayden Lake was with Richard Butler's freakshow at it's peak.
