Russia has huge natural resources and China has a ravenous appetite for energy to feed her ever growing manufacturing base.

Furthermore it is time for China to get off coal.

Meanwhile, the US is still largely energy dependent. Low economic growth rates have had a locally deflationary impact on fuel prices. If this economy even kids into gear, we'll be wondering where our energy sources to drive growth will come from. The sun and the wind just aren't gonna cut it
