Saakashvili, former Georgian president, resigned his position as governor of the Odessa region of Ukraine. He cited endemic corruption as his reason.
Odessa is a lucrative spot where 80% of Ukraine's import/export is put through.
Did Saakashvili and his foreign backers expected that the local boys were going to to play ball?
The foreign players are licking their lips; they want to carve up Ukraine and get the privatization game going, in which they get the jewels of country for pittance.
But the locals are not going down easily. They know that this war on corruption has different dimensions--one of which is to replace them with foreigners. Soros has to wait a bit longer.
