Moron Erdogan
Oh my God - Erdogan did not learn the basic lessons of democracy and he is so much pining for having Turkey as a full member of the EU.
Recently he attacked the freedom of press in Turkey in a very serious way. A German satirical show presented a very good satirical song on the topic some days ago. Erdogan was very VERRRRY angry about that contribution of the show, so he summoned the German Ambassador. The Ambassador had to explain to him that political satire in Germany is an essential part of the political freedom of speech, but he did not calm down and kept on stiring the pot.
So the show "extra 3" declared him "Contributor of the Month". In addition to that they put the song into the internet (2 millions clicks so far) and subtitleld the song with Turkish subtitles...

Erdogan is indeed an @sshole of epic proportion. While trying to elevate Turkey to its stature during the Ottoman empire, he's ruining a fantastic country full of wonderful people. I've traveled throughout Turkey several times and have never been to a country with more gracious, friendly people (along with Ireland). It's a crying shame.

Hmmm...who else do we now know who sees themselves as an incredibly talented and great leader, but is curiously sensitive to criticism?
Erdogan is a good example for those who wonder what's wrong with a flaming narcissist as a national leader.

Erdogan is angling to get his picture taken with Obama at the ongoing security summit in DC in order to prop himself up as an important world leader with whom Obama needs to consult.

The architecture and history very interesting and the people were generally friendly.
More stray dogs roaming around than even Rome and everyone and his brother cooking something on a hibachi on the roadside.

Erdogan knows he has over the barrel European leaders who fear the political
fallout of the massive influx of immigrant/refugees.
He has his hand on the immigrant tap and therefore can extort Europe, especially Germany. Note the promise of more money, visa free access to Europe and ramp up process to EU membership.

Radical Islam is an even greater threat to secular Turkey than Europe. Turkey also has Kurdish lands still within its domain and an almost independent Kurdish not quite a state on its border. Its also not European, nor Arab. Turkey is a big can of worms not matter what is done/happens.

Erdogan wants to restore the Ottoman Empire, Shariah, Arabic and all. Everything he does must be viewed in that context so any hope of him doing anything to curb the flow of refugees to Europe is in vain, especially since they seem to all be bottled up in parts of Europe which used to be part of that empire.

Now Erdogan fucked up in Washington. His security tried to attack a critical journalist. They also attacked demonstrators.
