Ultra liberal congressman from California announces his retirement after 20 terms in the House. He'll be missed by both sides . The right wingnuts have known him affectionately as 'that sonovabitch Waxman' for forty years.

I couldn't get past his looks. He reminds me of a Chuck Close self-portrait with an emphasized pug nose.

His politics aside, I'm happy we won't have to look up in his nose any more.

For some reason it looks like a lot of Dems moving on soon. Reps will probably pick up a few seats in the house. Good thing its the house and not the senate with all the dem vacancies coming up.

Well, he's only 5'5" so unless you're a sawed off runt...
I'm curious as to who'll replace him. You can bet your bottom dollar it won't be any repub in that district.
