Wouldn't this be exactly why we need missile defense?

Same reason why we would be unhappy if the Russians put missiles into Cuba again.

Further, those missile that Obama is taking out of Europe will do nothing to protect the US.

We all agree we need it, but how are we going to pay for it? Oh, not supposed to ask that unless it's a liberal cause.

time out!

i don't agree that we need it.

i also don't think it showed weakness, i think it showed diplomatic prowess unseen in previous administrations. the plan was a great strain on our relationship with russia and china.

the missile defense system was designed to keep the war machine rolling in the dough.

determent? to what? diplomatic relations with russia and china? i'm sorry, but the ability to shoot a few nukes out of the sky if russia lets loose is a fart in a whirlwind. not much sense spendind billions of dollars for that. what we really need right now is for russia, china, and the rest of the free world to work with us towards better relations with iran and north korea. maybe if these countries weren't afraid that someday the good ole usa would change its non-expansionist attitudes, then just maybe they wouldn't be so diligently pursuing nuclear capability.

we don't need to protect ourselves from russia right now, we need to make peace in the east.

peace in the east. damn, i'm a poet and didn't know it.

A deterrent should not threaten others.

Interesting news in todays paper. Boeing was to build the site, so they lost out. Orbital Sciences was to build 10 interceptors - based on what, is there a proven design? Raytheon is happy because they build most all of the ship based systems. The best Iran can do at the moment is 1200 mile range missiles unless that short assed NK gives him one of their long range jobs, but their track record is not too swift, one launch, one failure.

BTW neither the Polish nor Czech governments had approved the arrangements as yet.

No, I'm not serious. Just pointing out that the Neo Cons have no trouble finding all the money in the world when the agenda is an activist foreign policy. But as soon as you want to do something for an actual American citizen, say, make sure he can get health care, all of a sudden the price tag becomes not only *a* concern, but the *primary* concern.
