Phony outrage works well with all stripes, I doubt we'll ever see the end of it.

I agree with the whole Chicago machine politician thing, I'd say it reminds me of Cleveland but Chicago is so much better at it

For the record, I see a big difference between Waco and Bundy's Rebellion. While the Davidians should have surrendered and are blameworthy for that, the initial deadly BATF raid on the Davidians was a legally dubious and tactically-insane publicity stunt. The BLM, by contrast, has acted reasonably and avoided violence.

If any one of them had drawn or raised a weapon they and Bundy would have been responsible for the outcome. Just like Randy Weaver and Vernon Howell were responsible.
For what? for refusing to pay the grazing fees

Naw, he's a deadbeat trespassing thief beating up our land. Fuck him and his merry band of militia seccessionists.

Show of force would be for threatening to assault federal officers in the lawful performance of their duties. Use of force would be for actually doing it.

But note that the BLM has declined to have this confrontation "for refusing to pay grazing fees." Which is pretty like the sheriff in your town refusing to evict a guy for refusing to pay rent, because he's got lots of armed gang members hanging around to protect him. But somehow I doubt that Hannity would find their 'armed rebellion' and 'fighting for our rights' rhetoric nearly so laudable.

For that he should have just been locked up in debtor's prison. For fomenting armed rebellion...absolutely. Far as I'm concerned every stinking one of those people at the Bundy ranch is a fucking traitor. Go roll your fucking eyes in the mirror.

No, 'bagger, for armed resistance to legitimate federal authority.

I do disagree with Ike, however, in that I think the BLM was wise to withdraw. The best estimate of the situation was that at least one of the hundreds of nut job "militiamen" on the scene (thousands by their own estimate) would have become trigger-happy. That would have required an armed response from the BLM rangers. There would then have been a genuine firefight.

The "patriots" on the far right have enough "martyrs" already. We don't need another "real American" blowing things up and killing hundreds if innocents as "revenge for the Bunkerville Massacre".

John

And the actions that warranted an armed rebellion - enforcing a lien on property pursuant to a court order? Are you going to support the militia coming out whenever the loan company reposses a car from a similar deadbeat?

Regards,

D-Ray

We should prepare to hear about exhobitant interest rates as justification for armed rebellion against finance companies. Or, if he's been going to Bundy catechism classes on youtube, it will be..."This is different, the federal government has no right to own any land in Nevada."

I understand what kind of bad press there would be John. I also understand that the militiamen of America are probably looking for any excuse they can to blow up another building full of children, like in OK City. But they don't really need any more of an excuse than Kenyan anti-colonialist jungle bunny witchdoctor president, which they already have.

As far as I'm concerned, any people who would perpetrate an armed resistance to lawful action by law enforcement, be it local, state or federal are at best, traitors, as worst, homegrown terrorists. I think it's time to take a lesson from the Israelis (I'm in trouble now). And the Israelis taught us that there's no benefit, long or short term, in negotiating or backing down from terrorists.
