Why Even President Trump Won’t Kill The Climate Deal

Moreover, Americans want the government to get serious about climate change. Over 90 percent of Americans believe in global warming and two-thirds support the Paris deal, whereas as late as 2005, fewer than half of Americans said they supported the Kyoto protocol. Public support for the agreement might already be pushing the Republican-controlled Congress to accept the climate deal, or at least not publicly oppose it.

Trivia: Effect of greenhouse gases was a course I took in my undergraduate Ch.E program back in 1970! So this was predicted then but no one listened.

I wonder what The Donald's Global Warming position is?

IIRC in 1970 the mainstream scientific projection was another ice age. A decade later the projection was a pick-um, but a major climate shift was definitely coming due to all the CO2 we're dumping into the atmosphere. By the 90s was Global Warming it was and still is.

More Ch.E trivia: A good friend has his masters and was head of ARCO's lab until the end. He's now a Chevron contract employee, helping them suck as much oil out of the Earth as possible. He's been spending a lot of time in the Far East.

"The Future Is Happening Now"

Whatever we humans do, it's gonna be too little too late.

http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/3...-happening-now

Quote:
"Many people now think that the problem is solved since we reached a nice agreement in Paris last year ... but the negative side is that we haven't changed our behaviors," Petteri Taalas, secretary general of the World Meteorological Organization, told the media recently.
Worsening storms and their greater frequency are wiping out food crops on a regular basis.

As if to underscore that point, March global temperatures crushed the 100-year-old record by the greatest margin we've seen for any month yet. February was also notably far above the long-term average, enough so that scientists described that month as a "shocker," as well as it being "a kind of climate emergency." Then, on the heels of February, the Japan Meteorological Agency released data showing that March was even hotter. NASA data confirms this increase, and also shows that March was 1.65 degrees Celsius higher than the 1951-1980 March average, while February was 1.71 degrees Celsius hotter than the February average over that time period.

NASA data shows that March was also the 11th straight month in a row that set a new global temperature record. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, that is the longest such streak ever recorded.

Question???

If you believe that we are already too late(I am in this camp BTW), how do you want the end to come? Here are some options:

1. water becomes scarce, food becomes scarce, total human system breakdown, canibalism.....

2. Nuclear reactors fail and radioactive contamination wipes out the planet i a matter of weeks

3. Voluntary suicide in hope of stabilizing the planet

4. Aliens rescue us and the planet?

My point, have you thought about what the end is going to look like?

When and if the "end" comes, I'll be long gone anyway. No worries here.
