And what is the comparable number in the entire health care industry? Context please.

Much of this number was for "medically unnecessary services." This problem is by no means unique to Medicare. It's the defining feature of all fee-for-service programs and a primary reason for the exorbitant costs of health care in this country.

Yes, and the middlemen only jump as high as you can roll. If you check out the premiums we have to pay for healthcare, it is easy to understand. Small business is probably subsidizing healthcare for large corporations like food stamps for Wally.
