NY Times - "Oops"

It looks like the NY Times story on Conn. AG Blumenthal left out an important fact - that the candidate had accurately described his service earlier in the speech as a "Veitnam era veteran" and that his opponent bragged that she had provided the scoop to the Times. So much for that liberal media bias.

Not really arguing with you here, but interested in your reasoning. Do you doubt that he was a Vietnam Era veteran, or do you doubt that it was a slip of the lip when he later said "when I was in Vietnam." Besides his being a politician, to you have other reasons to believe that he lies. I'm not familiar with the individual, but I think reasonable minds could differ on whether he intended to claim service in Vietnam.

I agree, Don, but the guy's toast either way.

From the TV news clip I saw the veterans appeared to be quite happy with his explanation. He apparently does fight for their causes and has attended every last funeral for veterans in his state. Maybe as they say, "It ain't over till the fat lady sings".
