DeSantis pivots on Covid-19 surge, says testing doesn't account for spike

https://www.politico.com/states/flor...-spike-1293901

Quote:
TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Ron DeSantis acknowledged on Saturday that the rising number of new Covid-19 cases in Florida cannot be explained away by an increase in testing, and announced plans to step up enforcement of social distancing practices in bars and nightclubs.

“Even with the testing increasing or being flat, the number of people testing positive is accelerating faster than that,” DeSantis told reporters during a briefing at the state Capitol. “You know that's evidence that there's transmission within those communities.”
Doh! You don't say!

The Republican president who called for racial justice in America after Tulsa massacre
Warren G. Harding’s comments about race and equality were remarkable for 1921

Almost a century ago, Harding asked Congress to pass an anti-lynching bill. The latest attempt just weeks ago was thwarted by another Republican, Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.).

Very interesting. I have read up a bit on Harding, and now think better of him. Unimaginative, too trusting, but fundamentally very decent.

Doh! You don't say!
When will these Repukes realize they can't BS their way through Covid-19? I predict at the next election there's going to be quite a lot of backlash for their actions.

Keep hearing locally, "I still don't know anybody who's gotten sick"!
To which I respond, "I do"!
