Yup and this story proves it.... http://www.infowars.com/boy-whose-ho...-now-homeless/

Several weeks after a city zoning officer shut down his hot dog business, 13-year-old Nathan Duszynski and his parents are homeless.
The family was hoping Nathan’s hot dog cart could help them through a difficult time. Nathan’s mother, Lynette Johnson, suffers from epilepsy and his stepfather, Doug Johnson, has multiple sclerosis. Their illnesses have restricted them from finding permanent, full-time work.
The family receives about $1,300 a month in disability payments, Medicaid and food assistance. The three are having a hard time staying together. MLive confirms what the Mackinac Center learned Thursday — Nathan and his mother are staying at the Holland Rescue Mission.

So the local government - where the folks on the right say that government should be focused - shut down a small business because other business interests wanted protection from competition. Yep, who needs the feds when local governments are making such great decisions.

Reading further into the story, I read where the father wasn't let in the shelter because the meds he takes aren't allowed. He has MS and needs his meds. Thats just so screwed up.

So we should respond to this by cutting soshialist safety nets, "entitlements" and then give taxcuts to billionaires?
Your story is a real tear-jerker.....
But;
No, we're not lowering our standards for food safety, zoning or anything else to accomodate some kid in Michigan with a hotdog cart and a tragic story.
And, furthermore;
No, I'm not voting for Romney.

Perhaps the young man should have done a little research and put together a business plan. If he is smart enough to put a business together, he should be smart enough to make sure he is not violating city ordinances.
There are reasons for zoning laws. How would you like it if you owned a brick and mortar store that specialized in selling Nathans hot dogs and some kid wheels up, parks in front of your building, and starts selling Nathans hot dogs for half your price. You have employees to pay, rent to pay, water bills to pay, restroom upkeep, Gas and electric bills to pay, routine maintenance on your restaurant equipment, etc...
I would be glad the government is at work protecting my business that I have to pay a license fee each year to operate.
The family should be thankful they get government assistance to the tune of $1300 a month. Your average minimum wage workers gross wages are $100 less a month.
If Herman and Eddie Munster get in the white House their government assistance will go away so Sheldon Adelson can get a big fat tax break.
How did you put it, oh yeah, "Your government at work... Congratz"
