Duh, you need public infrastructure to support growth.
Who da thunk it?

Americans have flocked to Texas in search of a piece of the state's booming economy as much of the rest of the country struggled.
Now, the state's largest cities are seeing crowded highways, strained water supplies and other pressures that have come with the growth. And Texas politicians—protective of the small-government, low-tax policies many of them believe are at the root of the state's success—are grappling with how to pay the price of prosperity.

Texican, as it were.
Other than Austin and San Antonio (and the Hill Country in between), you'd have to pay me $40 million to move to Texas. Dallas/Ft. Worth and Houston are Gawd-awful places.

Business comes to Maryland because of the highly educated workforce.

The missus and I visited Dallas/Ft Worth one weekend. She was there for a job interview and I went with her.
A weekend in Dallas/Ft.Worth was all it took to decide I never ever wanted to live there.

Isn't a shame the way they become dependent on the government. It seems like a multinational corporation (or a Nevada rancher) just can't make it without being propped up.

Banks are more than anxious to loan money to small businesses that don't need it. But when you really need it, you are SOL unless you have some serious collateral.

The fact that Texas politicians are struggling to find ways to fund infrastructure to support growth says something........
Anyone care to venture a guess at what that something is?

47% of your citizens say they'd leave if they could. And the number one reason they want to leave is tied between "work/biz related" and "family/friends"
