An excellent movie with great acting.
I've seen a couple of movies in the past week:
20 Feet from Stardom (A documentary about (mostly black) back-up singers who supported the likes of the Rollling Stones, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Michael Jackson and Sting). Good flick.
Fury (Brad Pitt's recent war movie). A decent war movie with a narrow focus (the life and death of a tank crew in the last months of WWII).

Saw '20 feet from Stardom." Highly good!
Haven't seen 'Fury" yet, so could have done without the spoiler....

Oops, but I thought that was already widely known as it was emphasized in every review I've read of the movie.

The saddest of them to me was Claudia Lennear. She seems contented enough now, but somehow it felt sad to me. And...my god, when I first noticed her singing with Leon and the Shelter People back in 1971...I almost lost my mind.

My pop was a medic in New Guinea. He refrained completely from tales of combat. However, he would often speak of the Japanese who, after the serious fighting was over, would come down out of the jungle/caves at night and sneak into the mess hall to steal food.

Whoa, New Guinea was a shit hole. I don't blame your pop for not talking about it. Mine didn't either.
He went to USC after the war on the GI Bill and became a Methodist minister in Watts, LA. Recruited by Kappa Alpha Psi and was a member of SNCC.
