Off the cable as WBJC was running the opera and I am not down in the Playroom with the big system. Hear a Liszt etude after and realized I did not have it. Sent Bing on a search and ended up at the Naxos site and bought 5 CDs.

Be glad when I get mobile again and really glad I installed the chairlifts a few years back.

The end credit music, recorded from a (borrowed) Blue Ray DVD onto Reel to Reel at 7.5 ips. Revox A77mkIV, RMGI LPR35

When I rent movies, or borrow them from friends, I record the end credit music. Most people pay little attention to it, but a lot of it is great and very well recorded music.
Nice RtoR, just picked up a very nice one a few months ago.

John McLaughlin

"The Heart Of Things" on CD through an all tube system. The tubes really mellow out the CD sound.

Yes! I've been missing my Anthem preamp, run through a pair of Rogue monoblocks that I had several years ago. Sold them and bought a Mac MA6900 in 2005. The Mac is nice, but still has that SS harshness when pushed hard.

I rebuilt a pair of Roberts 770 monoblocks (Akai M8) from an old tube RTR deck. They have a nice sound but only put out ~3-4 watts, not enough for a rattle the windows kinda guy like me. (And one of them seems to be problematic. A recurring noise issue, that I'm told might be the OPT.)

Anyhow, if I does go tube again, it'll probably be a nice integrated.

You still have the schematic for that project. I picked up a Sony 500 RTR from a thrift. I think the highest use for it might be to salvage the tube amp out of it.

Yeah, but are they the same amp in a Sony? I dunno.

Did anyone watch the RNR HOF show last night? I'm not a big RRHOF fan, but seeing Donovan and Ronnie Wood was fun. Since Axl Rose refused to attend, GNR had Myles Kennedy as a substitute for Axl. IMHO that was an upgrade. WRT to Ronnie Wood, I'm still trying to figure out how all the Stones have a wrinkled leather look. The other old rock stars don't seem to have it. Perhaps it was too much time spent in the Jamaican sun?
