Anyone else getting 'Java' upgrade push?

Something, I figure an ad, is trying to push an "java upgrade" from time to time as I navigate from screen to screen in PC. Basically, my link to PC goes away, and I instead find myself linked to http://www.flashplayerupgrades.c om/?cch=cq&dc=22 [link disabled by inserting space in '.com']

This site autodownloads a setup.exe, and solicits a mouseclick to 'upadate Java.' It gives no way to cancel or back out, I have to close the link.

I'm very suspicious--I can find no info on the site 'flashplayerupgrades.com,' and it does not seem to be an Adobe site.

Has anyone else been seeing this here or elsewhere?

Not here.

I would not update through an untrusted third party.

Most definitely malware, if you run setup it will ask for regular or custom. if you chose custom it will show about eight programs none of which has a damn thing to do with Java. That was when I shut off the PC.

I definitely wouldn't recommend running such an unknown-source setup program ever. It bothers me a lot that this adware does as much as it does, switching your link and downloading a file, without any user input.

Beware. I thought it was legit. It aint. Had to do a '"System Refresh" to stop the shit. It shut me down hard for hours.

Scary stuff especially for a computer illiterate like me.

I avoid upgrades unless I have to.

Well, you have to upgrade or you're a lot MORE vulnerable to malware. But you navigate to the sites using trusted routes to do it. NEVER let a site that 'came to you' by any means install or upgrade anything.
