I think you made the right decision on getting the ready made power supply. A cobbled together one might of introduced hum until you got the filtering right.

A good source for power supplies is a thrift and the computer power packs. You can split them open and change the resistors to get the voltage needed.

I wish I knew how I have a lot of computer power supplys but no knowledge ,there is stuff on the webb but I am no electronic type person.I have a rater large transformer from a pioneer Elite amp it would probaly work for someting too, there are more and more kits coming out maube I can learn from one of those.no biggie though.I Have got a lot I need to weed out I wonder if AK would do A big Bazzar type Sale I think it would be a good thing,with a admission of $1 to AK It would be a worth wile endeaver I bet.I am sure between all the members there is a lot of shit.remember one mans trash is anothers treasure.

oh and I am Squshing the battery thing too costly with not that much gain.
