"She is a servant-leader of true determination and conviction. I'm thrilled Sarah will share her extraordinary story and bold vision for a better America on Tuesday," McCarthy said in a statement.

To which she responds: “I am grateful for this opportunity to address the nation and contrast the GOP’s optimistic vision for the future against the failures of President Biden and the Democrats.”

The GOP is optimistic??? LOL. I suppose they're interested in ensuring that their party continues to be viewed as a party of unprincipled, pathological liars.
The GOP has convinced their base that the majority of Americans are buying what they're selling.

'Absolutely repulsive': Some House Republicans are now wearing an assault weapon lapel pin

https://www.alternet.org/pins/

These idiots are bought and paid for by the gun lobby. They don’t even try to hide it anymore. Disgusting.

That sounds vaguely familiar to a group around 1930-1940 over in Germany. They painted a group of "others" as the cause of their follower's problems. When you convince your followers that the others are their enemy it paves the way for a lot of unsavory things. Saves time and trouble from having to present actual solutions to real problems

It plays to group combat instincts, which seem to be quite strong. Nothing creates group bonding and emotional leader-following like having an enemy group to fight.

When given a choice between saving their voters’ lives or promoting the guns that lead to deaths, Republicans consistently tag-team with the Grim Reaper.****Take America’s favorite firearms enthusiast, Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., who promised to wear a Glock to Congress. In a speech on the House floor Wednesday, she said: “A recent report states that Americans own 46% of the world’s guns. I think we need to get our numbers up.
Florida Governor DeSantis is pushing for more guns in his state while banning books. No wonder the Republicans are not celebrating the jobs report from last month, better to hand their voters guns and rile them up than educate them. At this rate USA will look like the Gulf oil states in a couple of decades employing guest technical and medical workers.

And here's what an elementary school library in Duval County, FL looks like in the wake of DeSantis' order. I thought these fascist clowns were opposed to "cancel culture."

Why don't the Reich-wingers just home school their kids instead of imposing their views on everyone else? That way they can indoctrinate them to their heart's content.

Quite a few do. A nakedly NAZI lesson provider for a home school network has come to media attention here in Ohio: https://www.vice.com/en/article/z34a...omeschool-ohio
