Who doesn't realize that guys like Chuck-n-Dave resent being forced to pay into something they don't need and don't want to continue doing so, unless they can find a way to turn a buck off of it.

That's what all the fuss is about.

Really, it's about the government having all that money, the "non-existent" SS trust fund. That money belongs with them.

What everyone needs to remember is the money paid into SS is and insurance policy. Not your money in a savings account. Just like car insurance, pay for thirty years and never have an accident you can say it was a waist of your money. But have a accident and be responsible and you glad to have the protection. So if you die then the money goes to pay for those who don't! Put SS into a personal account and the amounts paid in would have to be increased.

If you are lucky enough to live and draw from your account, you will get back every dollar and some. But like car insurance the government plans on a percentage never to claim a penny.
