Extreme vetting, the reason for the ban

So, the supposed reason behind this temporary ban was to give the intelligence community time to come up with better vetting procedures for immigrants/refugees.

Has anyone heard news about whether this process is underway? Have meetings been held? Has there been any outline describing some of the changes that will be made?

All of the focus has been on whether this ban is constitutional, but I have yet to hear anything about whether this supposed overhaul/improvement of the system has started.

The "ban" was a sop to his rube base of supporters. Just a doltish, moronic self-inflicted wound that is eating up his political capital. It is has no impact upon terrorism and at same time makes Trump look like the conspiracy theory believing idiot that he is. Plus he has threatened our democracy by challenging judicial review.

All Trump has is placebos. No great ACA replacement, no great methodology for attacking ISIS that has amazed all the generals, no magic wand that turns NAFTA or the TPP hugely to US benefit. Bluster before substance.

It's my understanding that the United States already has a pretty good vetting process that is cumbersome and takes years. The only people who get through it quickly are people like Melania Trump who had a sugar daddy to grease the right palms.
