Really. How stupid. I guess motive means nothing anymore?

Right, no reason or plan required, just the urge to do the deed.

Luckily that COO who really really wanted to shoot someone, found a guy who needed to be shot.

I'm going to let this rest for now, I don't want to be flip about a serious responsibility like carrying and using a ccw anywhere and particularly in a public setting.

Now I coulda swore the news said that the gentlemen who shot the offender also works part time as a cop. If that's the case then it May Be possible that he was required to act whether on duty or not. Note that I said ''May Be'', because I don't know how things work in Oklahoma.

My dad has been in law inforcement since 1978 and was sworn in from day one to protect people from harms way anywhere in the state if he see's something bad going down on duty or not even though he was only a ''city'' cop when first sworn in.

If you're a sworn officer, you're never truly off duty. (In fact, many jurisdictions require that you be armed at all times.)

It's part and parcel of what makes the lifestyle so difficult.

Imagine going to a baseball game "in town" and instead of having a beer and watching the action, you have to pay more attention to the drunk clown in front of you trying to incite a riot due to inebriated idiocy.

If the only place you can truly relax is 1K miles away from your home, you don't have a home.
