I think, more to the point - where was the international outrage/sadness/solidarity about a month ago when 70 people were killed and another 100 "wounded" in twin Baghdad suicide bombings? I'm not trying to detract from the seriousness of what just happened in Belgium, but this was my initial thought when I heard the news this morning.

That chart depicts gun ownership per 100 residents by country. It doesn't show the rate of incidence for gun violence.

Did you think we wouldn't notice?

Exactly.

Hello! Why would home grown terrorists be pleased that those escaping their parent group, IS, are being aided by Europe? That makes no sense.

You need to rethink your position, you are starting from a false assumption.

Didn't know you wanted to see it. Have at it, Skippy. Both the incidents and rate of gun violence has been dropping over the years. So, again, the gratuitous observations about gun control in a thread like this have no bearing.

Probably because Iraq is still a war zone. Folks aren't as shocked by violence in a war zone as they are when violence on the scale that occurred yesterday in Belgium happens in an otherwise peaceful area.

More likely it's white Europeans being killed by Muslims versus Muslims killing Muslims.

The outrage would be as intense if the terrorists were white Europeans.

Brussels the capital of the EU is supposed to be safe.
