Know from personal experience with law enforcement over these many years. That the best policy is to keep your mouth shut, eyes down and take the ticket, arrest if it come to that.

You will not be able talk your way out of either, just make it worse. Knowing a bad situation can escalate quickly. Being a "long hair driving a van" had my unfair share of pull overs. Could of just cut my hair, shaved and drove another vehicle....but didn't!

Then here are many who do not have that option!

The solution is to not only make the police more liable for over reacting. Using to much force intimidation aggressive. Also make those who choose to resist shoulder a share of the blame for the results of their actions.

More liability all around.

If one cop kills somebody, and 9 cops know and keep their mouths shut, what you have is 10 bad cops. But we must always remember that having cop power brings out the sadist in some people. In that college prison experiment, this happened with college students just pretending to be cops. Cops need to be chosen, trained, and supervised much better than we do, to guard against this.

Also to be mentioned with what you have stated. Doing the day to day duties and interactions. Will harden and amplify any flaws in character.

We need a better way of doing law enforcement. One with less brute force one with more interaction with local leaders. Working with the young in troubled areas. Of course less fire arms.

This one was really bad and happened in Kansas City; pretty sure y'all have heard about it, it's national news.

Eighty-some year old White guy shoots a Black teenager just for being on his porch. Here's the guy's grandson siding 100% with the victim. CNN
