Pete,

The best way to tell when a politician is lying? Look and see if his mouth is open.

I'm still waiting for the massive windfall of taxcuts the Republicans keep promising me............................

I do know I got $600 from herr Bush. Obama promised me about the same, according to his tax calculator (remember that?). I did my taxes, I didn't pay less. Obaama.

I just did my taxes on Saturday and got an unexpected windfall. I got $2500 credit for each of two kids in college and was able to deduct the sales tax on a new car I bought in November. Honestly, the cash influx will be nice, but I'm a little conflicted in that I don't exactly need the money and I'm just passing the nation's debt load on to my kids. OTOH, I guess that it can be considered payback for me putting 'em through college.

I guess Obama should have sent you a check like Bush did.

The only way for you to tell if Obama's tax cut netted you anything personally would be to do your taxes with last year's forms and see whether there's a difference. Did you do that?

I could, but it isn't neccessary unless you're saying he DIDN'T just lower withholding?

I'm hoping to finish my taxes today, but the first time through I found the tax credit for working stiffs that was worth $800, plus the $2500 each for my college boys. Obama promised middle class tax relief, and I am smack dab in the middle class. He also promised more educational assistance, and that has come through as well. Pretty stimulating to me. The standard deduction is also higher, and now that we're 18 years into our mortgage, that helps too.

Regards,

D-Ray

I figure I'm on the low end of earnings here. I didn't get any relief!

Don't count on that. My secretary made more than I did last year.

The way it worked for me (and my wife) is that there was less withholding, which would have reduced the refund but for the additional tax credit.

D-Ray

I have always wondered where the ACLU got the nerve to include the A.

Well, my lead carpenter made damn near as much as I did.
Worst gross I've had in 15 years, and my net reflects it.
