Lot's of could of, should of but never ever a matter of taking accountability. What a waste of tax payers money. Heads roll first and then the inquiry. Ordinary citizens lawyer up, bureaucrats paper up. What else is new?

This article from The Detroit News indicates that the EPA tried for 6 months to get Michigan to comply with its Lead and Copper Rule, but that its hands were effectively tied by respective responsibilities and authorities of the Federal government vs the States.

While it can be certainly argued that the EPA didn't push the Michigan DEQ hard enough, the DEQ was essentially in a position to blow off the EPA (which it did).

Republicans can't have it both ways. They can't constantly complain about EPA overreach and then later complain that the EPA didn't save them from themselves.
