Hmmm, Was poses a question about "supply and demand"
and you responded "So they can be put back into population." that's pretty fucking moronic if you ask me.

They eventually wear out their horn, honking at their own tail lights.

Because you're having issues understanding supply and demand?
(sigh) Why bother...

Pretty easy one to answer here.
Because there may be very rare and collectible pieces in the mix.......

While it's certainly reasonable to assume that some nice guns would be recovered when high level crooks are busted, the lion's share will be cheap to average.
I still fail to see how it interests the gun manufacturers to have them back in circulation, standard or fancy.

It isn't that simple, Was. The NRA still needs to be sensitive to it's membership or at least to make it appear so.

I know what I saw being destroyed at the Sacramento County evidence facility my Brother -in -law was in charge of. I almost cried at some of the stuff being melted down in front of me.
I see your point and in a pure economic break down you'd be right but I'd venture to guess there is more than just pure economics in play here. If the manufactures were to come out in support of destruction they'd be shooting themselves in the foot (pun intended). While it would seem economically sound it my be political folly......

would not destroying old guns increase demand for new ones?
but guns are really not like that I guess
