They are doing this simply to claim to their brain dead voters that 'Repeal and Replace' is still alive. The question is when are these voters going to wake up and realize the the "Repeal and Replace' is really 'butt fuck you and you are going to like it'.

His measure, also backed by Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), would convert money currently being spent on providing ObamaCare coverage into a block grant to states. States could then choose how to spend the funds.
Give the money to the states, then defund it like always, then give it all to the billionaires which is what all this is about in the first place anyway. Fanboys of Agent Orange should fall for this no problem.

"WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—With a fury that could spell political trouble for Republicans in the midterm elections, Trump voters across the country on Friday expressed their outrage and anger that they still have health coverage.
“I went to bed Thursday night and slept like a baby, assuming that when I woke up I would have zero health insurance,” Carol Foyler, a Trump voter, said. “Instead, this nightmare.”
Harland Dorrinson, who voted for Trump “because he promised that he would take my health care away from me on Day 1,” said that he was “very upset” that he will still receive that benefit.
“I woke up this morning, and my family and I could still see a doctor,” he said. “This is a betrayal.”" New Yorker

Straight talk express:

"Arizona was about to get screwed, if I may, under this plan," McCain told Phoenix-based radio host Mike Broomhead.
If only other GOP senators could be this honest, instead of doing the bidding of mega donors.

'Recess just started for Congress, and it’s not going to be much fun for Republicans'

"The Senate left town for the rest of the summer Thursday, bringing a historically unproductive period of governance to a close for Republicans, who failed to produce any major legislative achievements despite controlling Congress and the White House.
The Affordable Care Act they vowed to undo stands untouched. The sweeping tax overhaul they pledged has not materialized. A worsening relationship between President Trump and congressional Republicans threatens to create new roadblocks in September, when a looming funding crisis could shut down the government.
By their own accounts, Republicans have failed to enact the ambitious agenda they embarked upon when Trump and the GOP majorities swept into power in January. The president has fallen well short of the legislative pace his two predecessors set in their first six months on the job.
The lack of a signature accomplishment Republican lawmakers can highlight at home this month has given rise to a new level of finger-pointing and soul-searching in a party that stood triumphant eight months ago after winning back full control of the federal government." WP

Sooo much winning.

Feckers spent the last eight years screeching "No!" and now they can't legislate their way out of a urine soaked paper bag.
Sad.

"A retired attorney in Virginia Beach is so incensed that Republicans couldn't repeal the Affordable Care Act he's suing to get political donations back, accusing the GOP of fraud and racketeering.

Bob Heghmann, 70, filed a lawsuit Thursday in U.S. District Court saying the national and Virginia Republican parties and some GOP leaders raised millions of dollars in campaign funds while knowing they weren't going to be able to overturn the ACA, also known as Obamacare.

The GOP "has been engaged in a pattern of Racketeering which involves massive fraud perpetrated on Republican voters and contributors as well as some Independents and Democrats," the suit said. Racketeering, perhaps better known for use in prosecuting organized crime, involves a pattern of illegal behavior by a specific group." The Virginian Pilot

Fun times for the GOP.
