I've been called twice. The first time, I was empaneled for a murder trial. The second time, I sat and watched Forrest Gump (over and over) and went home at the end of the day.

Have fun!

John

Was called twice, first time I sat through the whole boring burglary trial as an alternate and was excused when the case was given to the jury. The second time I said thank you vey much but no thanks as I am over 70.

I would really like to experience what goes on in the jury room, but in most jurisdictions I would be ineligible, and in any other I would be struck. Instead, I get to talk to the jury.

Regards,

D-Ray

I've been called 3 times, didn't get called on one occasion and was thrown out during voir dire proceedings twice. It seems they don't like engineers, particularly ones who have been involved in any types of investigations - not as easy to manipulate their emotions, I'm told.

It can be interesting. We damn near got hung. We took so long in deliberations that the judge sent word to us that, if we didn't hurry up, he'd declare a mistrial.

I always sort of regarded that as judicial jury tampering.

I've been called several times. We have an internet check in system you check the evening before and my numbers were always high so I never had to actually report to the courthouse.

Just got thrown out during voir dire...was really surprised because I had said I would be impartial. I think they still look at your reactions when they ask questions to the other prospective jurors when they are done with you. I figured I either looked bored or annoyed when others were saying things just to get out jury duty.
