Computer virus scam

Any one ever get a call telling you your computer has been detected by the windows security team and that you need follow their directions so they can restore your computer.

Boy did i piss them off,i kept them on the phone for 45 minutes before thy gave up.they even put the head man on the phone trying to tell me what to do.hey all is fair ,if they want to f with me then i will f with them.RIGHT>

Yes. I smelled a rat and hemmed and hawed; they hung up on me! Didn't take 45 minutes....

later i read that as i suspected, these are always scams. You do what they say and they install remote control and henceforth own your computer.

Sounds similar to the FBI virus. I got rid of it by going into safe mode, doing system restore and then scans with two different anti-virus software programs.

yea i played stupid(not hard for me to do)and said i did not know much about the computer the only thing i used it for was my bank account,boy did they try to get me going but i would stall with stupid answers on how to do stuff.they finally hung up on me,not even a have a nice day(there custermor service sucked)

I stalled them about 10 minutes, then told them I didn't even have a computer now. She called me an a$$hole and hung up!

The FBI one locked down my daughter's computer and scared her stiff. She
had to call in a professional to get rid of it.

I had one interesting virus. When I found one process that I thought was it in task manager, I did a windows 'find' search to locate it. When it popped in the search box it closed the box and changed its' name!
