One thing that occurred to me in agreement with Don - it was easier to let the young men let loose with no young women around, and under direct adult supervision. I'm guessing that might work on the female side too.

It might interest you Don that I learned a bit more about the ceremony, it turns out they actually consummate the wedding directly after the ceremony, in front of everyone but behind sheets. I don't know for sure but I'd bet they do the Old Testament thing too with the wifes' parents getting the used sheet.

I spoke to a Jewish guy I know this AM (not a religious Jew), he said the reason the guys all blew it out is because the rest of the time their wives treat them like slaves
