Sorry I didn't stretch out the back, but you get the picture

Let's see who gets where I got the idea from for the front..

Did you ever see the movie bio on Lenny Bruce? Dustin Hoffman played Lenny. In any event, he had in interesting perspective on the sentiment displayed on the back of you shirt.

You get props from me for taking part. I'll confess to being selfish in my pursuits today. I have a ton of work to get done this weekend as I try to stay in the top half of the 99% (we're living there, courtesy of my wife recently).

In the evening, my son has invited me to attend a bloodbath with him. My Sooners visit his hapless Jayhawks. Picking the Sooners to beat the 34 point spread is better than most of the bets placed on Wall Street.

Seriously, though, be careful.

I'll bet the 47% pay a higher % of their income in various taxes than does the 53%.

More distorted slime from the party of slime.
Actually, the more telling number to look at is the amount of available income after taxes. For a lot of working folks, there's very little of that after SS taxes, medicare taxes, state and local taxes. Then in most states, part of what's left goes to pay sales taxes, even when they buy groceries. If they are fortunate enough to have a car (which is a prerequisite for lots of jobs) they pay more tax every time they pump gas into the tank. There are taxes when they pay their gas bill, electric bill, and phone bill.

I'd still challenge anyone here to claim that they want to be part of that unfortunate 47%

Exactly. Excellent post.

As a friend of mine recently pointed out;

Even if a billionaire is paying 50%, he still has $500,000,000 to buy groceries with....poor baby. If a convenience store clerk making $15,000 a year only pays 10%, that's $1,500 from someone who can't afford to feed her kids already.

But, God fearing Republicans don't give a rats ass about that---She's been "stealing" from the rich with her foodstamps long enough. So the time has come to cut her off and make her pay more into the system!.......(After all, that's WWJD, right?)
