'Pipe Bomb Explodes Along Road Race Route in New Jersey' NY Mag

"An explosive pipe-bomb-style device blew up a garbage can in Seaside Park, New Jersey on Saturday morning, just before thousands of people were to begin a nearby road race benefiting a U.S. Marine charity, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. No one was injured by the explosion, which occurred at about 9:30 a.m. along the route of the Marine Semper Fi 5K, which had been scheduled to start at 9 a.m., but was delayed because of late signups. The run was cancelled on account of the explosion, and authorities seem to believe the runners were indeed the target. No suspect has been identified as of early Saturday night, and no motive has been established."

I'm thinking these bombings are for political effect. I think the fact that no one was killed may have been by design.
