Tell me more about that mac & cheese Rob. Patty uses tomato soup in hers with parmesan/Italian breadcrumbs on top, browned in the broiler. We too had babyback ribs, simmered in beer and broiled till perfect.
No martinis but I headed down to the local Hi Times hootch store in search of Weller 12 year old bourbon, they were out but the nice gal down there took my name and number with a promise of a call when they get some in.
So, I wandered crestfallen down into their ample wine cellar and picked up a bottle of '10 Cha. Carbonnieux Bordeaux vino that was greatly enjoyed with dinner. I stopped by BevMo and struck out again on the Weller 12 but another customer talked me in to a bottle of Basil Hayden's bourbon. Not too shabby for Kentucky hootch.
Patty is more the martini type, she discovered Bombay Sapphire recently. That's her favorite poison, which is yours?

I watched the Phish webcast with an AK member and then came home with plenty of time to catch the turn of the year out west.

I bought myself a present on New Year's eve, a Fisher 400 in great condition. It was a long drive to get the Fisher. Got together with some friends later and I picked up more audio gear that I don't need. And then a quiet evening at home.

We had pancit and lumpia for brunch since my wife is working this PM
My daughter and I went out to the thrifts which were open
I had a good day as far as Men's Seiko watches go:
Seiko 7N43 your basic run of the mill generic mens watch $2.99 beat up but hopefully it will work
Seiko 6139 Automatic which is working and looks like a dive watch $2.99
and previously at the SA I had thought I had scored with a $8 dollar old Seiko digital watch which I will have to get a battery for
Beam On tell me if the Fisher sounds better than your Macs I have heard the 400 it really sounds sweet
and Happy New Year everyone!

I have NO speakers that the Fisher can drive. I reluctantly sold my A-25's in December to a friend and now regret it.
I had set the Fisher on a counter downstairs and when we had some friends over for lunch today, one lady asked me why I needed yet another antique amp. I answered "pride of ownership of a classic". She persisted, "what are you going to do with it". I said look at it. It was friendly banter but not far from the truth.

long story short I had two but they always had channel problems...I was able to listen to one for about three weeks before the problem set in..
it is the warmest sweetest sound you will hear IMHO
you know they can probably drive better than you think....
try some old KLHs or some of affordable Klipsch Synergy or Reference series
it is not restored have an expert do it will be worth it I should have gone that route
