It's a wonder anyone has any national pride left in 'em. We're so unscrupulous as a nation.

All that blood guts and money, and we walked away from Iraq.
That says a LOT.

Still a lot of good folk with good intentions rolling around this country don't give up hope yet. Might even be a few Repubs that fit that opinion.
Now, if we could just draft a few of them into the Peace Corps!

Thanks! I wondered when that would kick in. Must have been at 100 posts. I'm practicing for the day when I might write a good one.

Yeah,
When it comes to a war that never should have happened in the first place, the answer should always be to continue the bloodshed ad infinitum because so many have been killed thus-far.
I love the logic of that. A self perpetuating bloodbath being fought.....because ending it would be such a shame, a dishonor to those who have previously had their guts blown out.
Tell Ya what, Pete. You may be too old to join the Marines now, but you can always buy your own ticket and make your own way to Afghanistan, if think war is so great and noble.

What it says is that victory was ill-defined and accordingly unachievable. Weren't you the fella bragging about purple thumbs of those who voted?

Or at least, that's how the left would like the history books to be written. One man's spurious assertion is another's mis-read of intel. In the case of the Iraq War, there was a belief at that time that the intel pointed to a weapons program that could be reconstituted. That intel was also presented to members of Congress of both stripes, and they voted in favor of military action. And of course, there were multiple reasons listed in the Resolution for the Iraq invasion, not only the WMD's.

I know your party's line. I also know it's bullshit.

Aren't you a member of the "party of personal responsibility?" It seems to me that Dubya launched a war on concocted BS or misread intel. In either instance, it was a monumental phuck-up for which he is responsible. Period.
