3. Why She’s a Conservative

Hampton told the Louisville Courier-Journal that her own family was puzzled about her conservative political leanings, but she said she reached her perspective early in life. She said her father “went to his grave” angry with her.

“That I’m conservative, Republican, didn’t support Obama — he just could not wrap his arms around that,” she told Bailey.

“A huge part of what formed my opinions was the peer pressure that I got to fail,” she told the newspaper. “These were kids who questioned my good grades, questioned the way I spoke, questioned my choice in music and the fact that I was reading all the time. I just remember wondering, ‘Well, jeez, when do I get to just be Jenean with my own likes and dislikes?’”
So, she became a conservative because the other kids made fun of her?

Sorry, all you cons, but this is you in a nutshell: immature, selfish, thin-skinned, self-obsessed without being self-aware and a stubborn because, deep inside, you know that you're ideas are junk.

Congrats to the new Lt. Governor!

According to this article, she is the 1st African-American* in Kentucky to hold statewide office..............

This is 2015.

Yes, Kentucky and the Teapublican Party certainly are leading the way to racial harmony and inclusion in this country.:rolleyes

(*Notice the use of the hyphenated term in a right wing publication. I thought hyphenated terms were averse to rightist ideology?)

I'm not so negative about conservatives, except the stupid authoritarians. We need to drop those genes as fast as we can.

Excepting that, conservatives and liberals need each other. Liberals need conservatives to vet their ideas and remind them that we shouldn't run with every neat new idea just because it is neat and new. It is possible for an idea to be neat, new, but ridiculously unworkable or even unintentionally harmful.

Conservatives need liberals to tell them that change can be very desirable and necessary, and is not always a bad thing to be put-off in every way possible.

Liberals sometimes need conservatives to remind them that some 'people like us' won't care how much we want to understand and be friends, they will still gut us if given the chance. And conservatives definitely need liberals to tell them that ideas in the form of "the only good Indian is a dead Indian" are wrong wrong wrong.

She's conservative because she was born with a conservative personality. The bullying tie-in is personal narrative.

Also my conclusion.

What impresses me was her determination to keep improving her academic and professional life.

I just need to make sure you're being facetious. You're being facetious...right?

I find it fucking hilarious the way these baggers act whenever they get themselves a black person to sign up for their cause.

See! See! We got us a black bagger!

That proves we aren't racists!

It's the Democrats that are the racists!

Hence my comment about The Blaze parading this woman and saying "Look! She's the first black to get elected to a state level job in Kentucky!"

Yeah, so? All that means is that the Kentucky GOP is behind Blue States by a few decades.

Only Republicans could finish dead last and claim victory anyways. If you think about it, it's kind of how they are.......

I know there was a period in which one couldn't pass a psych course if you admitted to believing in heredity, but I missed that indoctrination. The answer to the heredity/environment debate is to scream FALSE DICHOTOMY!

Why do I fear spiders, which I have all my life? Why are conservatives measurably, physically more affected than liberals by 'disgusting' images, such as a person eating worms? Same answer both times, I think.
