Gun nuttery is American as shoofly pie but things change. Things are changing. Sooner or later enough people will see the obscene folly of our firearms fetish. It will happen but probably not in my lifetime. Hopefully, it'll come to pass in my children's or their children's lives.

I've long believed that the worst thing gun enthusiasts can do is continue their staunch intransigence. Refusing to negotiate reasonable measures and being asinine will only make it harder on them when this day you speak of finally does arrive. That's when whatever powers that be at that point will have no choice but to ram tougher controls down their throats. And, I agree; That day WILL arrive.

Like you, I hope I'm dead before it does, because it isn't going to be pretty.
