Yikes. This was such a huge story here. The guy was featured to be a prince among men and a model cop. It went on like that for days and days. I suspect those sorts of news stories continued even after the Fox Lake PD began to realize something was off.

I'm still confused though. How does a guy shoot himself to death and a crime scene team where everybody's paying attention not know almost right away? Or within a couple of days of going over all the information.

I don't believe he was a crime scene investigator speci@list instructor, Zeke. My thought was...perhaps somebody else was involved and did some creative gun placement or provided some other assistance in an attempt to pull off the story. I understand a bunch of "killed in the line of duty" benefit money that went to his family is probably going to have to be returned. In excess of $50,000. A pretty strong incentive to make it look like a murder.
