The latest tactic being used is to fund individual agencies in a piecemeal fashion to blunt criticisim for the game of 'chicken' politics the Tea party has embarked upon.

They want to reopen the National parks and Monuments and fund the military as shuttering those parts of government are the most damaging to their public image, it seems.

I thought the military was funded.

Just the paychecks for active duty members. I'm sure that Ice and others have some choice comments about getting their pay being in limbo.

Another example of reckless idealogy getting in the way of nation's health.

"Roughly half of the government’s R&D budget goes to the military, and another quarter goes to NIH, Hourihan said. The rest goes to the Energy Department, NASA, the National Science Foundation, the Agriculture Department and other agencies."

I am considered essiential but I do not know if I will get paid next week......

you cannot tell me racism is not a factor behind holding 800,000 other workers and the economy hostage.......

the well being of the nation is certainly not in the Republican Party's mind.

For the life of me, I do not see how racism has one iota to do with this.

And have you not considered that perhaps the Republican's are at least as concerned about the nation's well being as the Democrats?

Does the fact that I see some things differently than yourself make me evil?

What I find galling are the mental midgets like Bachmann, Gohmert & Co. somehow saying that their motives/actions are driven by greater patriotism and knowledge of the constitution. I personally believe that some of these clowns have to know that their current tactics threaten the underpinning of our democracy (i.e., a small minority in one half of one of the 3 branches of government holding the country hostage to their demands).

“During the course of my presidency, I have bent over backwards to work with the Republican Party and have purposely kept my rhetoric down,” the president said in an interview with CNBC. “I think I’m pretty well known for being a calm guy; sometimes people think I’m too calm. But am I exasperated? Absolutely, I’m exasperated. Because this is entirely unnecessary.”

Couldn't agree more, Mr. President.
