Youtube is actually an excellent source of information, but I have no idea what it has to do with something being anecdotal or empirical. Youtube is like a library - there is good stuff and junk. there is serious stuff and comedy. How do you feel about Ted talks on youtube?

Frankly, I think people that complain about Youtube are just frustrated by its power to get solid and supported information out there that they don't want to be presented. I can't think of any other reason someone would throw out the whole thing. That's simply not rational.
