I went to boot camp at Great Lakes in 1988. After I graduated I went to the Hospital Corps A School that was at the Naval Training Center. One weekend I took the "ricky" bus that went to Milwaukee and somehow I ended up in Kenosha. I remember going to a local bar and having some beers. The people seemed pretty cool.

I just didn't like that area of North Chicago and southern Wisconsin. Too cold and the recent experience of boot camp sort of soured it for me. I stayed in for 20 years but I made sure never to get stationed back at Great Mistakes lol.
