They don't understand that. Poverty in their mind is when the governments doesn't supply cell phones , flat screens and all the service providers to operate them.

The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers had a relevant quote in this regard.

At the risk of sounding like a complete lying liar...
3 years ago I walk up a driveway to a garage sale and the son has moved out and they're selling his vinyl for $1 each.
I counted 23 in my stack and asked if $20 would do it. "Sure" the lady says.
There were 7 sealed Zepplin albums in that stack. My hand was shaking bad when I paid her.

When we both got laid off in '92, we quit smoking and drinking, except a 12 of Miller cans on Friday.
It wasn't so bad. When you're young and in love, you just fill in the blanks with more screwing!

There's always food. Always a food pantry somewhere. Unless up there in AK everybody's a complete rugged individualist, nobody's there to help, and you just let each other die of starvation so the survivors have some protein available.

C'mon, it was just an expression. Pretty broke compared to his current affluence, see? Now he'd probably drop a couple large at that sale.
