Afganistan has been a "Tar-Baby" for any & every power that has tried to invade/conquer/control it. Looks like we would have learned something from history...

Afghanistan is one thing. Rolling Stone is another.

Gen Mc should have learned something from James Watt and "Loose shoes, tight pussy, and a warm place to s..."

Don't talk to the press, much less RS.

The trouble is Genghis Khan conquered it. All these military "geniuses" think they're Genghis Khan.

According to Joe Klein of Time Magazine, McChrystal has submitted his resignation. I hope Obama accepts it.

So, he's a Conservative Republican in the finest Limbaugh tradition you say?

For what it's worth, he apparently voted for that Commie Fascist Muslim Terrorist.

Here are the issues I have with it;

Since when has it been acceptable for high ranking active military brass to run their mouths about the C-in-C in a public forum such as "Rolling Stone" anyhow? General McChrystal should never have granted the interview in the first place.

Secondly, having been in the military, I know Gen. McChrystal would never have tolerated such a thing from any of his underlings. If any of them had gone to the press and given HIM a black eye, he would have their ass. You can bet on that. It makes no difference who the President is, none of them from Washington on, would have let this pass.

Defense of the Generals actions, just like the defense of BP, is nothing more than another ludicrous talking point for right wing pundits.

Crappy situation. I've heard lots of things bout McChrystal- sounds like he's something of a jerk. I'd probably get along with him pretty well. Also sounds like he's a Special Ops master and that sounds like what we need. It's a shame he had to shoot his mouth off. Sounds like hes the man for the job. But I think Obama will have to can him for political reasons. Just one of the many things that sucks about the whole situation.
