Insulin prices have never been capped Federally. There are a few states that have passed price control measures...which of course do nothing to fix the underlying cause of the high prices. How can "they" take away a cap on insulin prices if such a cap never existed?

And of course, the thing that finally got Manchin to align with Schumer and get aboard the climate bill were assurances that a natural gas pipeline in WV that's partially completed, and has been stalled by lawsuits from WV residents who oppose it, would receive all final approvals and permits be completed and begin operation.
Love it!

OK you win, a "proposed" cap but same difference. Deplorables still too dumb to know any better while they empty their bank accounts to contribute to Trump's "Screw America & Screw You Too" campaign.

OK, this is an economics thread, so: why do you think price controls on insulin is a good thing?

Yes and I'm not generally in favor of such. However, the price gouging should be obvious to anyone with a brain (this may exclude you).

I will tell you why, albeit indirectly.
I have been taking two medications regularly for the past 15 years or so, Atrovent and Dulera. Atrovent around $470.00+ & Dulera around $350.00. I was also recently prescribed Diclofenac gel and when I got it from a local pharmacy, its cost me around $50. Low and behold the Diclofenac is made by Cipla in India and imported here. Guess how much I can buy the Diclofenac for in India? Under $2.00. I am fortunate that I have an office in India and people traveling back and forth including myself, so getting these medications there is fairly easy. When I showed my pulminogist the the Atrovent and Dulera generics with the price in INR posted on the box, he was dumbfounded, again around $2.00
And you are asking me why price controls on something like insulin is a good thing? Answer is, when do we stop the gouging especially something like an essential med like insulin.

Yep, because we clearly NEED more Enron's, Worldcom's, Bernie Madoff's, Trump Universities, Trump Crime Family Enterprises...
