Let me add my condolences, JJ. Losing loved ones is tough. May he rest in peace.

It's not just my business, It's society's business to know who is making bulk purchases of firearms and where they're going. It's a matter of public safety.

I know you don't see that. You're so wrapped up in the "it's none of your business what I do" mentality that you've lost any concept of the social contract and the collective good that you might once have possessed. Selfishness is destroying this country.

Hell, the people you listen to have even demonized the sense of social cohesiveness, shared goals and common good that's essential for us to survive as a nation. They talk of it as "collectivism" (another "ism" like communism or fascism) with bullshit notions of a Borg type hive mentality where everyone thinks and acts the same and there is no "freedom".

Only when they don't give a damn who they sell too. And, don't try to tell me it doesn't happen.

"Jack booted Thugs"? who said anything about that?

Once again.... we are not even communicating on the same level. "Ideology"may be getting in the way, but it is not all on my side.
The comment about Jack-booted thugs was a joke, and it was not directed at you, but at one of the ideas that is often advanced in gun control debates, that the aim of government is confiscate guns. A corollary of that argument is that guns are necessary to protect democracy from a totalitarian government. My point is that guns are not a guarantee of household security from crooks or from a totalitarian regime.

That being said, I am very sorry to hear about your brother in law. Be there for your wife and don't fret about us jokers.

Regards,

D-Ray

My real meaning is in the following line.

What exactly is it that distiguishes us from other "first world" countries, in regards to our horrendous gun violence stats? And, NO, it's not demographics, poverty or geographic location.

Heres a small clue; It has something to do with "availability".

Regards,
Dave

Stereotype much?
